About this piece
ੴ, Ik Onkar, is the first word of the Guru Granth Sahib. It says there is One, present in everything. It is also the mark of Wahe World.
Here it sits in a clear ivory circle at the centre of a sixteen-rayed lotus, with a ring of small gold beads around it. Nothing is drawn over the letter, and it is printed in the same deep gold as the site.
