Terms of Service

Last updated: 27 July 2026

Welcome to Wahe World, a service operated by Wahe Incorporated. By using this site you agree to these terms. Please read them — they are written to keep the space respectful of the sacred content it carries.

1. The service

Wahe World provides a reader for Gurbani (the Sikh daily prayers), word-by-word study, recitation audio, and optional practice games, for personal spiritual and educational use. The service is offered as-is and may change or be unavailable from time to time.

2. Accounts

  • You may use most of the site without an account. An account lets you sync progress across devices.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account. Sign-in is handled by Google or an email magic-link; we never store a password.
  • Choose a respectful handle. Given the sacred context, do not pick a handle that is offensive, impersonates another person or institution, or misuses Sikh names or symbols.
  • Optional analytics consent is exactly that — optional. It is never a condition of creating or keeping an account, and you can change it anytime. See the Privacy Policy for what is and isn’t collected.

3. Acceptable use

  • Use the site with the dignity the content deserves.
  • Do not harass other users, post abusive content in handles or groups, or disrupt the service.
  • Do not attempt to cheat, manipulate leaderboards, scrape the site at scale, or access data that is not yours.

3a. Reporting a security issue

If you find a security problem — a way to reach someone else’s data, a broken permission check, anything that could put a person’s practice or account at risk — please tell us first, at support@wahe.world, and give us a reasonable chance to fix it before sharing it publicly. Report it, don’t exploit it: look only as far as you need to show the problem is real, and never access, change, or keep another person’s data. Report in good faith under this section and we will not pursue action against you for the research, and we’ll credit you if you’d like. Our machine-readable contact lives at /.well-known/security.txt (RFC 9116).

4. Sacred content & intellectual property

Gurbani itself is sacred scripture and is presented with reverence. The original translations, word studies, illustrations, written chapters, design, and software on this site are the work of Wahe Incorporated and may not be copied or redistributed for commercial use without permission. Treat all scriptural content respectfully.

5. Translations & audio — important note

English translations and word studies are interpretive study aids to help understanding; they are not a substitute for guidance from the Guru Granth Sahib, a granthi, or scholarly santhiya. Recitation audio is generated by a neural text-to-speech voice for learning support — it is not a trained reciter and should not be treated as authoritative pronunciation for ceremonial use.

The Daily Hukamnama reproduces the day's hukam from Sri Darbar Sahib for reflection. Its short "today's word" summary and reflections are interpretive study aids, generated automatically; the authoritative Hukamnama is the one taken at Sri Harmandir Sahib. For the official daily recitation we link out to its source. Treat the interpretation as a devotional aid, not a ruling.

5a. Your published kirtan recordings

Kirtan Hero lets you record a Sing-mode take and, if you choose, publish it to the public Sangat page. By publishing a recording you confirm that it is your own voice (or that you are the parent/guardian of the singer and consent on their behalf), and you grant Wahe World a non-exclusive licence to host, stream and display that recording on the site under your handle, for as long as you keep it published. You keep one published take per shabad — a new one replaces it — and you can remove your take at any time from the Sangat page (or by deleting your account), which ends that licence. Recordings must carry the dignity of the content: a recording reported by a listener is hidden immediately pending review, and we may remove any recording at our discretion. Sacred content deserves sincere effort, not perfection — every honest voice is welcome.

6. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Wahe World is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the site.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms, particularly conduct that disrespects the sacred content or other users.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as the service grows. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms; the “Last updated” date above will reflect any revision.
